Controls Engineer

This job opening is for the person that has experience in providing effective control system implementation and support in a Material Handling or Manufacturing environment.

Responsible for the electrical hardware design, PLC Programming, HMI programming, troubleshooting and commissioning of automation control systems. May direct the work of staff members assigned in project support roles.

Expertise and programming experience in PLC and HMI system applications is a must. Experience across multiple PLC and HMI platforms is preferred. Relevant hardware design, programming, and implementation experience in the Food & Beverage industry is a plus.

Implementation of custom control system solutions for customers in various industrial environments may be required. Additional experience with power systems, drive systems, industrial communications and OPC connectivity would be a plus.

Responsible for the execution and completion of all contracts and jobs awarded the Company as well as service and repair work in a safe, thorough, and profitable manner to the satisfaction of the customer.

Tasks and Duties

  • Prepares drawings, specifications, and material lists as needed for awarded jobs.
  • Responsible for the development, programming, implementation, and commissioning of assigned projects in an accurate and timely manner to the customer’s satisfaction.
  • Responsible for the leadership of assigned support staff and associates to execute project deliverables.
  • Confer with customers, vendor, and suppliers as needed.
  • Responsible for providing all information necessary to the installation crews to facilitate and expedite a quality installation of the control system.
  • Responsible for assigned customer service work and trouble-shooting.
  • Timely reporting of labor hours and materials used to ensure prompt and accurate job costing and customer invoicing.
  • Attend trade show conferences and seminars as deemed appropriate.
  • Responsible for pursuing ongoing formal education, as appropriate, including but not limited to attending classes, outside study, testing.
  • Assists Principal Controls Engineer on specific projects or portions of projects as assigned.
  • Service/repair work in a safe, thorough, and profitable manner to the satisfaction of the customer.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

BSEE or equivalent experience and education, 2-5 years’ experience in relevant field.

Business Development Representative – Grand Rapids, MI/Hybrid

This position is for a passionate and motivated self-starter that will be responsible for developing and driving US sales for a company that provides inclusive turn-key controls integration solutions and design-build services to a variety of markets with a focus on the food & beverage and material handling sectors.

This individual will be responsible for the proactive development and building of strong customer relationships by solving customer challenges, leveraging the company’s solutions, and maintaining a high degree of technical knowledge.

Qualifications:

  • BS degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of sales experience in an equivalent position with a track record of success
  • Proficient in Customer Relationship Manager applications
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Excellent communication skills with a strong focus on customer service
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently
  • Ability to travel up to 50%
